Welcome to Progressive Temple Beth Ahavath Sholom  
Mission

Our mission is in accordance with the faith of Judaism: to cultivate a love and understanding of Jewish Heritage; to stimulate friendship; and to strengthen the   bonds of loyalty with Israel and all Jewish people by bringing near the love of G-d through an emphasis of principles of righteousness and humanity.

Membership

Members are drawn from all over Brooklyn and Staten Island. New members find their involvement in worship, committees, classes and other activities greeted with enthusiasm. Our lives have been enriched since joining PTBAS. We appreciate and foster diversity. Members include families with non-Jewish spouses, Jews by Choice, old and young, singles, and same-sex couples. Our members come from diverse backgrounds within Judaism. All find a spiritual home at PTBAS.

Haiti Relief  
Dear Members of PTBAS,

In response to the devastation caused by the earthquake in Haiti on January 12, as Rabbi Herzfeld mentioned on Shabbat we would like to share with you the contact information for several organizations that have established relief funds for the earthquake victims.

In addition to the American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, Partners in Health, the Clinton-Bush Haiti Relief Foundation established at the request of President Obama, , and many other organizations, the URJ, AJWS, and UJA (which lists a telephone number for donations as well) are accepting monetary contributions toward rescue, relief, and/or rebuilding in Haiti:
